We need to plant for bees through the seasons. Wildflowers are transient and short lived so why not focus on planting bulbs in October to provide nectar for them in February through to April. Or add shrubs, herbs or fruit trees for forage that comes back year after year.

Surely there's no more delicious way to support bees populations that by supporting your local, independent beekeeper. Check out the British Beekeepers Association (the BBKA for those in the know) website to find out who your local beekeeping association is. And from there, the rest is easy beesy.
